Small Businesses Can Have a Unique Look

Here's another business whose owners wanted an appealing, easy-to-maintain
landscape that would tie in with their company colors - and use three repainted
swimming pool filters. Interesting rocks, xeric plants and a drip system were
the answers for them also.

Maintenance on this type of a landscape involves monthly weed control and
deadheading. Pruning is done in the spring for summer blooming shrubs, in the
summer for spring blooming shrubs and in the fall to remove unwanted plants
and trim back perennials. And of course, regular mulching is a must.

The owners of this company wanted a landscape to complement
the attractive architecture of their building. Native and xeric
plants were the perfect answer!

Along with perennials, we used a number of evergreens,
flowering shrubs and succulents for texture and color in the winter
months.

A drip system runs throughout the garden and once the plants are
established, the garden only needs irrigation once a week or so.

This bistro is in Springdale, just outside the entrance to
Zion National Park. A combination of ornamental and
native plants provides a very inviting entrance as well as a
pleasant environment for outside diners.
