Here are some of our favorite 'xeric' (drought-tolerant plants). They were selected because each one
provides a spot of beauty in the garden during multiple seasons, does well in our local soil and climate, requires very little water and is quite easy to take care of. What more could a person ask for? |

Notes on water requirements:
Very low water: once established, can survive without supplemental water but will look better, grow faster
and bloom longer with a monthly deep watering during the hot summer months
Low water: irrigate deeply once a month after establishment
Medium water: after establishment, irrigate deeply once every two weeks during the hot summer months and
once a month during the spring and fall
High water: after establishment, irrigate deeply once a week during the hot summer months and once every
two weeks during the spring and fall
All plants require regular watering until they are fully established!
